Teaching Experience

I have been teaching singing since 2000, both privately and with numerous schools, academies and organisations. Over the years, I have taught individuals as well as large and small groups in a variety of settings. I have held singing classes for children and adults at various levels of abilities (from beginners to advanced), workshops on vocal technique and masterclasses on jazz singing and vocal improvisation. Being a jazz singer with a degree in jazz music, jazz is obviously my main specialism, but I also teach pop, rock, soul and all modern styles.

I am totally passionate about singing and equally passionate about teaching. As an Educator, my main goal is to create a purposeful and positive learning environment where students can feel valued and inspired. My teaching approach is active and imaginative, and I aim to foster my students' musical understanding through activities that stimulate their musical skills and develop their knowledge whilst keeping them highly motivated.

About Antonio D

I am a singer, songwriter and singing teacher. I started studying music and guitar in 1991, and then I studied singing at some of the most prestigious music schools in Italy (CPM in Milan, Università della Musica and Saint Louis College of Music in Rome).

In 2011, I graduated with a first-class degree in jazz arranging and performance at Licinio Refice Conservatoire of Music (Frosinone, Italy). In February 2018, I gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Professional Practice (specialism Vocal Pedagogy) from Cardiff Metropolitan University, in conjunction with Voice Workshop Ltd. I conducted extensive research on the subject of vocal improvisation and creativity and presented my work at several conferences in the UK, such as the Singing Symposium in Birmingham and the Voice Geek Conference in Colchester. I have written articles for iSing Magazine and the Naked Vocalist blog, and I recently published a paper in the American peer-reviewed journal VSR (Voice and Speech Review).
I sing jazz and pop with several bands and have released four albums, one of which as a bandleader.

I have taught singing since 2000, in various schools and colleges in Rome and London. I have led workshops and webinars on vocal technique, jazz singing and vocal improvisation.
