I worked as a teaching assistant in Headfort Preparatory School, Kells, Co Meath, Ireland, for the summer terms of 2014 and 2015. During that time, I taught English and French students between 9 and 11 years old. I also prepared them for Common Entrance in those subjects. During my year in France (2015), I taught English as a freelance Educator, mainly to a 12 - 14-year-old age group. Since then, I have been teaching English to students in Ireland; I have a proven track record of assisting my students in improving their examination grades. I have also provided Oxbridge application support to students from Irish schools.
I'm from Ireland but I currently live in London where I freelance as a writer and editor. I have a passion for writing and languages and won awards for playwriting at Oxford. Writing brings me great pleasure and I love sharing the skills I've gained through writing. Throughout my academic career, I have been really interested in helping others access the opportunities I've had, and have had communications training, which has honed my natural ability to teach others. I did a lot of drama in school and am a qualified drama teacher with the Leinster School of Music and Drama.
I am very closely associated with Headfort School, which is an independent school in Ireland, and have spent happy summers teaching there. As the children grow up, I've been lucky enough to maintain great working relationships with my ex-pupils and continue to assist them as they apply for university courses. I am a very warm, talkative person with a keen sense of fun. I also work for an educational charity that does great work promoting tolerance and inclusivity in schools. I also go into schools and deliver talks and workshops to children of all ages about feminism, sexuality etc. This work is really important to me. I love sharing ideas with the students and encouraging them to engage in debate.
