Course Overview

This course teaches students to plan, format and write their very own screenplay from a beginner's level. All screenplays start with a great idea. However, it is not enough to simply rely on this and it takes a lot of planning before a writer ends up with the finished product. Therefore, this series of lessons begin by working on idea development before moving on to give students the tool to plan their own screenplay. Students also learn how to use professional formatting software to industry standards. Throughout the course, students study a range of genres and understand how the choice of a specific genre can help to sell their films. Students also learn the importance of themes, character, structuring and dialogue. Unique to this course is coaching on the creation of a logline to put their film out there to the industry.
