I have three years of teaching experience in London schools. In my first posting, I taught KS3 drama and led a public speaking club to develop my pupils’ oratory skills and confidence. I also supervised Extended Project Qualifications and led academic writing workshops to prepare A-level pupils for the challenges of undergraduate-level academic writing.
I obtained my Postgraduate Diploma in Education and my teaching qualification through the Teach First programme. I taught English Language and Literature to diverse, mixed attainment classes of up to 30 pupils and have had excellent results across my GCSE and A-level classes. For three months, I acted as a whole-school Literacy coordinator and led two projects to innovate how teachers across the school developed their pupils’ literacy and love for reading.
Alongside my schools-based career, I have been teaching English to foreign pupils at all stages of language acquisition and have prepared numerous A-level pupils for university applications.
I have trained extensively to deliver mental health support to children and young people through my work for a London-based charity. As a mentor, I led numerous seminars in philosophy, PCSHE, and provided career support for young people aged 16 to 25.
After completing my primary education in Russia and secondary in Greece, I moved to the UK to pursue my studies in English Literature and Philosophy at Durham University. In 2018 I moved to London and began my teacher training.
I started working with children and young people at the age of 16 when I signed up to give horse riding lessons at my local stable. Since then, I've taught English, Philosophy and PCSHE across two schools and worked in a charity organisation delivering pastoral and emotional support to young people facing challenging circumstances.
In my free time, I like to read about psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness while always striving to incorporate them into my teaching to ensure my pupils are not only academically successful but well-rounded and thoughtful individuals.
To relax and recharge, I like to watch football, practise mixed martial arts, and write poetry.
