The world of Ancient Greece is one both fascinating and mysterious. On this course, students will gain a complete understanding of Ancient Greek customs, history and culture. Thorough documentation of the course is encouraged.
This course aims to teach Key Stage 2 (Age 7-11) students about the History of Ancient Greece and how it has impacted and influenced the world today. Ancient Greece is an important subject to teach, as it gives these younger students a better understanding of the world around them. Ancient Greece carved the beginnings of language, theatre, sports, science and many other aspects of the modern world. It is a gateway subject to higher-level education. The history is also rich with art, conflict, Gods and heroes and so remains an engaging subject for students. Each lesson will last 1 hour. The course will include digital handouts, reference images and illustrations and reference videos. All students are encouraged to start an Ancient Greece file to document the course, either digitally or creating a physical folder/sketchbook/scrapbook.
