Course Overview

Intouchables or… Inseparables? This tale of a friendship against all odds, beautifully shot in modern-day Paris, is as much a reflection on friendship and the meaning of Fraternité as it is on Liberté and Egalité in a French society crippled by fear and prejudice. A beautiful message of hope and happiness. The course aims at providing students with valuable insights and skills through an in-depth analysis of the key issues the film explores, whilst sharpening their film analysis skills by becoming familiar with the style and intent of Nakache and Toledo. Each lesson will be an opportunity for critical analysis of an aspect of the film, as well as essay-writing practice.
