What artwork can be found in the British Museum? Students on this course will have the opportunity to find out in detail, whilst developing their knowledge of art history. This course is designed to take students on a virtual tour of the most famous galleries in the British Museum, as well as discovering hidden and overlooked artworks. The programme will discuss the content in galleries such as the Parthenon Marbles, the Egyptian galleries and famous artworks from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Students will, therefore, engage with a wide variety of historical artwork and discover the hidden meanings behind them. Students will develop their skills on analysis of artworks, knowledge of the historical and social context, and how these artefacts relate to developments in art history today.
