Course Overview

This course will take students through key periods of art and literature, starting in 800 BC and looking at one of the first ancient Greek writers before moving through to present-day artists like Yayoi Kusama. Students will learn about many other periods of art such as Ancient Roman, The Middle Ages, the Renaissance, A Time of Change and more. By looking at a range of poetry, drama, books, sculpture, paintings and architecture, students will develop their cultural knowledge and examine how artistic and literary styles have developed over time. This will help them to develop new areas of interest and expand their skills of analysis when reading and visiting art galleries in the future.
